An Honest Review: Logan Vegan in Logan Square- it is the perfect spot to know about for spring and summer! With homemade ice cream and a food menu, this is a great place to come and chill out for awhile on a hot day. The interior is so cozy and cute- I really liked the color choices inside. The couches looked so cozy and inviting, and the environment felt a lot like home- or a cool friend's ultra-vegan apartment. Logan Vegan also has a large selection of vegan snacks and condiments that you can browse while waiting for your ice cream, which is nice. I always like to discover new vegan items. The service was also super friendly- the girl at the front being super kind and inviting towards us the entire time we were there. She explained to us that the ice cream is made by Logan Vegan, and is coconut based. Spoiler alert: I could not tell that the ice cream was made with coconuts at all.
It has been too long since I have enjoyed a scooped ice cream cone. I ordered a double cone with strawberry ice cream, and cookies and cream ice cream. My partner ordered his favorite- a chocolate milkshake. Our order was made promptly, and with care. We left the store laughing like little kids because of how excited we were. That was our first time in a 100% vegan ice cream parlor. The milkshake tasted like liquified brownie batter, in the best way possible. It was rich, thick, and very chocolatey. My ice cream cone was wonderful- both flavors mixed together to create a fusion of strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and cream. The waffle cone was thin, crispy, and held it's structure the entire time I took to eat it. It didn't get soggy, and no ice cream dripped out from the bottom. How pleasant! It took me about 30 minutes or so to eat my entire cone, and when it was gone, I immediately missed it. The milkshake was also devoured in full. Needless to say, we will be back on hotter days! Logan Vegan is a great little spot that is warm, cozy, and houses delicious vegan ice cream. I will be back to try the food as well!
