An Honest Review: Stand-Up Burgers... I am simply so happy that this vegan fast food restaurant exists. In the 6 years that I have been vegan, I have never had such an authentic fast food experience as the one I had at Stand-Up Burgers. Now, that may sound meager or a bit sad if you are not vegan... but, if you are vegan, or vegetarian, you may just know what I mean. Having a burger, buffalo chicken sandwich, poutine, and two delicious milkshakes on the table in front of me, made of 100% plants, makes me incredibly happy. Honestly, it should make you happy too. Imagine if we all had places like this close to home, instead of other places? The experience was truly a simple joy that most in our world take for granted. Also, the food... have you seen the photos above? It looks just as good as it tasted- really. Stand-Up Burgers uses ingredients that are the highest quality mock meats and cheeses on the market. The quality is evident! Everything I had was wonderfully addictive and delicious. I love eating greasy burgers and creamy shakes knowing that it came from beautiful plants, and that I can enjoy vegan fast food and have a positive impact on society, myself, and the planet. It's really great! I am already incredibly stoked to go back and have another go at their menu, and have a happily bloated buddha belly full of vegan yum yum.

I stopped at Stand-Up Burgers right before a Heilung concert for my 3-year anniversary with my boyfriend. Stand-Up Burgers has been on my list for awhile now, having heard about it via word of mouth from a few people. To fuel ourselves for our concert journey, we ordered the Steakhouse (burger), Buffalo Chick'n (sandwich), Save-The-Animal Style Fries, and two milkshakes- a Peach Cobbler Shake and Mocha Shake... wow. Everything was so fantastic. The vegan cheeses, the meats, the sauces, the milkshakes... the fries! I can only explain so much via blog. Simply, this place is a perfect mix of futurism and nostalgia. If you are ever near Stand-Up Burgers, I think it would be a great idea to go in and try something you would normally order on a fast food menu. If you are vegan, you will most likely be extremely pleased. If you are omnivorous, then you just may be a bit blown away. The interior of the restaurant was thoughtful, appeared to be well-kept and managed, and the staff were friendly and patient. There was also thoughtful art splattered on the wall, which I always appreciate. The environment is lively and happy, making it a perfect place for a date, family dinner, solo lunch, or even a quick bite with friends. I am excited to see what other seasonal items they will yield- and hopefully, one of these will pop up closer to home! This is a spot I will definitely need to review again.
