An Honest Review: I absolutely love Veggie Grill. The ingredients are always fresh and spot on, and the menu at Veggie Grill is constantly changing and shifting, evolving with modern tastes but still always displaying classic American food items, and much more. Veggie Grill is a perfect spot for a casual lunch date, or a casual yet extremely yummy dinner. Re-visiting Veggie Grill after a few years was such a treat. On this trip in particular, I took my boyfriend and my good friend and her partner from Portland, Oregon. Surprisingly enough, the Portlanders themselves had not heard of Veggie Grill. There are multiple locations around Oregon, so it was surprising that this vegan gem had slipped underneath them; obscured in plain view. Veggie Grill also has locations in California, Washington, and Massachusetts. Catching up with friends at Veggie Grill is a great way to recharge your nutritional levels, and your soul. It is a must-know spot for vegans and the vegan-curious!
For this journey to Veggie Grill, we ordered a Fried Mushroom Bao plate, a Buffalo Chick'n Salad, and a Texas Toast Nashville Chick'n Sandwich. The Bao was surprisingly tasty, being extremely moist and tender on the inside, yet crispy and crunchy on the outside. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised at the high-quality and softness of the bao bun. My boyfriend enjoyed and cherished his Texas Toast Nashville Chick'n Sandwich, which really was exactly as it sounded like; a Nashville-spiced piece of vegan Chick'n between two pieces of buttered, garlicky toast. The Buffalo Chick'n Salad scratched an itch with the delicious vegan Chick'n, vegan blue cheese, and perfectly chopped veggies. Overall, we were in heaven as we ate, and felt completely satisfied when we left. My Portland friends enjoyed their food, and vowed to come back. We will be back soon, also!
