An Honest Review: Voodoo Doughnut... a classic for West Coast vegans. That is simply because Voodoo Doughnut absolutely makes some of the best vegan doughnuts around. Ever since I moved to Oregon, Voodoo Doughnut has been an essential spot for my vegan sweet tooth. I was told about Voodoo Doughnut from nearly ever Portlander I came across when I first moved to Oregon. My first trip ever to Voodoo Doughnut had me leaving one of their stores with a big pink box full of all-vegan doughnuts. Ever since then, Voodoo Doughnut has become my favorite vegan doughnut spot of all-time. Once you have one of their vegan doughnuts, it is quite easy to understand why those cruelty-free little pastries are so wonderfully addicting. The vegan doughnuts are everything you want in a doughnut; soft, kind of crispy, oily, fluffy, sweet, a little salty. There is simply never enough! On my recent visit to Portland, I brought my boyfriend to Voodoo Doughnut for the very first time. For him, the doughnuts were so good, he needed more halfway through our trip. Voodoo Doughnut became an essential source of sugar and carbohydrates while cruising around the beautiful state of Oregon together on that trip. With more and more Voodoo Doughnut locations opening up in Oregon, its even easier to get a taste.
Voodoo Doughnut is opening a brand new location in Chicago, Illinois in mid-November of 2023! My boyfriend and I literally made this wish upon returning home to Illinois from Oregon, so we could not be happier.
Voodoo Doughnut has a multitude of doughnuts, but we are here to talk about the vegan doughnuts. Voodoo doughnuts are simply so good, I need no other doughnut, I crave only Voodoo and need only Voodoo. That is why, when I found out on my birthday this year that Voodoo Doughnut is giving birth in Chicago, IL, I nearly cried of happiness. I really hope that if you are reading this article, you will go find the nearest Voodoo Doughnut to you and get a box of vegan doughnuts. Vegan Voodoo doughnuts do more than make animal's lives better; they fill your belly with love and happiness, and do not clog your arteries. If saving the planet, being kind to animals, and eating healthier isn't a reason to try delicious Voodoo Doughnut's vegan doughnuts, I don't know what is!
